Petting a kitty behind reinforced glass

My friend Jamie came down from Va to visit and I decided to show him some of the sites. So one of our stops was the greenville zoo where we found this spotted lepoard sleeping against the glass. Good thing its reinforced lol.

Day 24: A new pic and finally caught up

So some of the pictures are taken with my iphone and this is one. I decided it was time to give my worthy camera some credit. I have a Canon PowerShot S2IS that has taken some of the best photos ever. I was looking at my harddrive that I use to hold all my pictures on and I have well over 4000 pictures on it. It was pretty impressive to sit down and look through some of them. I have some great memories caputred both on digital pic and video. This is one of the best cameras I could have ever bought.

Day 15: A snowy Drive

So my three day weekend was cut short by some winter weather. I had to be back to School on tuesday for classes but monday is a holiday for us at sherman. So this morning I get up to find snow moving in and back home in the mountains when it snows it tends to last for a couple days so I made the 5 hour journey back to Spartanburg today. I traveled through ice, sleet, and a little snow. As I was coming back closer to the flat lands I came across this scene which painted the perfect picture of what it is like to live in the mountains. Notice the small cabin on the left, I would love to have a view like this from my porch.

Day 14: Zoey

This is my mom's dog Zoey who pretty much runs the house.

Day 13: Spinal Art

Day 12: NeuroPatho Phys Fun

Day 8: My iphone

So here I am on day 8 and already sharing my iphone with you. I think now a days you get one of these when you learn to talk lol. Its funny how growing up in the digital age changes how one views the world. I remember when I was younger and we had this huge snow storm in the mountains and it knocked out the power for about 2 weeks. My grandparents just simply reverted back to the old ways and missed having the electricty but were somewhat unbothered by the incident. Me on the other hand felt for the first time what it was truly like to be bored. After I realized the power wasnt coming back on no matter how many times I flipped the light switch in my room. I never went to bed early when I was little and those 2 weeks I went to bed about 8 or 9 since the house got so dark and all we had was candle light. I began to realize though there was something to this old way of life while we were with out power, I got to hear some amazing stories about my greatgranpa and what it was like for him growing up and my families stories. The power eventually came back on and things went back to normal but I had an even great appreciation for the more simple things in life and how they brought people together. I still find myself though racing to get the newest and coolest cell phone or piece of technology. I have to say though this is probably one of the best phones out there. You can see my facebook and myspace icons there and others. When I do go home to visit though we dont have any towers what so ever so no cell phone so I have to go back to the old telephone system and internet lol funny huh.

Day 7: Christopher Christopher

This is my roomates dog Christopher Christopher who is in a way Sophie my cats roomate lol. They have gotten pretty close and its a very funny occasion to actually watch them play. He is seen here with his bark colar on which I forgot to take off while taking the picture. Unfortunately when Matt my roomate isnt home the dog enjoys the acoustics of our apartment so he has to wear a bark colar. Keeps the neighbors happy at least.

Day 6: Time

Do we ever really have enough time? Or do we just misuse the time we have. This week for me is one of those cases. I have been on the go between classes and trying to get back use to my schedule that at the end of the day I am wondering where all the time went. At least it is the weekend and anything I havent had a chance to do through the week I can finally do this weekend. Grocery shopping is on my list for tomorrow and trying to learn some Cardio physiology will be the rest of my day. I hope anyone who is reading this enjoys the time they have and remember to take time to reflect on the day and always thank God for the time you have.

Day 5: Art and Passion

So as I am in a few days with the project 365 I am having a little difficulty finding stuff to take pics of but then again It could just be making time to do so with classes going on. So I decided today I would post a pic of something that I enjoy doing. When I find photos that mean a lot to me or some that I am personally proud of I will have them blown up and then I frame them and put them up on my while. Not only does it express my love for photography but the photos look good on the wall. Hope you enjoy the photo. God Bless ;)

Day 4: While Brandon's Away the Cat will Play

This is Sophie my 2 year old cat who enjoys trying to at times annoy me as much as possible. Nah she is really great although she has earned some names with my current roomate and my former roomates from undergrad who got to know her when she was a kitten. Everyone also said Siamese were pretty mean but leave it to me to set out to prove them wrong lol. She is pretty active and incredibly smart. She is capable of opening not only my door but my roomates as well to try and get his dog out to play with her.

Day 3: Nine Classes; $20; and 1 tired student

So as you can see this isnt one of my typical backdrops that I like to write about after all it is suppose to be my daily experience summed up. Today as I am on day 3 of my project 365 was spent mostly indoors locked behind some classroom door waiting for my watch to tick to the next second. The first day back at Sherman is somewhat of a lazy day where our professors go over the guidelines for the classes we are enrolled in and explain to us how the next 3 months are going to be spent. This photo sums up my day pretty much: Nine classes total although two of them are on different days, $20 dollars spent in our books store on note packets, a work work study parking permit for my afternoon shift of work study in the health center records room, a packet of x-rays to be analyzed by the end of the quarter, and finally my beloved planner which keeps me organized. All in all today was a decent day although like I said it was somewhat of a lazy day not to mention a wet and dreary day outside. Oh well I just need to look forward to tomorrow and keep thinking in 2 more years I will be Chiropractor with a Doctor title helping people better their lives 1 day at a time. Peace out!

Day 2: A Walk in The Park

In the excitement of heading out somewhere to take a photo I ended up going to one of my favorite places in Boiling Springs. There is a local park not far from where my apartment is and I often go there just to unwind or take a walk. I almost always end up taking pictures at this place but today to my surpise the plant life around this tree was in bloom. This tree has always caught my eye because it sits in the middle of this huge pond and is completely surrounded by water. It reminds me of a tree of life with everlasting water. You can always find wildlike around the tree also. While I was there today I seen some small turtles coming out to enjoy the warm weather we were surprised with today. I also stumbled upon a rather large crane who was taking his afternoon lunch break. I also found some time to just reflet on God's amazing presence in my life and say a few prayers for the upcoming quarter which starts tomorrow at Sherman. I hope you all enjoyed the photo and until tomorrow peace out!

Day 1 of Project 365

So this is an older picture I took from the '08 year since I am late into the night getting this blog set up I preferred to chose a picture that would make a good start for my first blogging experience. So what better picture to start the new year with than a sunrise. Now a lot of excitement can come from watching a sun rise especially for me since I seldom wake up on time to see one. This picture is one of my favorites and it was taking in Myrtle beach SC. For me sunrises represents moments where I feel close to God, leaning on the fact that he is truly in control. As I start this new year I want to grow closer to God giving him more and more of myself. There is such much work that he can do through each of us if we are just willing. I am so thankful to be where I am and to be surrounded by the family I have and the wonderful friends in my life. I love you all!
